Rowdy Creek Mobile Park is located on the scenic Northern California Coast off Highway 101 nestled in a valley with the High Divide Mountain range east and the Pacific Ocean three miles to the west. Thirteen miles in either direction are the towns of Crescent City, California and Brooking, Oregon. 

The mobile park is within easy reach of outdoor excursions. The setting offers abundant fishing on the ocean, rivers, and Lake Earl, to hiking, kayaking, beach agate hunting, plus many camping opportunities. From the world's most scenic stand of redwoods like the famous "Stout Grove" and the "Titans Redwoods," all in Jedediah Smith Redwoods State/National Park just fifteen minute drive east on Highway 199.

About Smith River

Smith River, "The Lily Capital of the World" is a peaceful coastal hamlet located on Highway 101 at the very northwestern corner of California near the Oregon border. Only 3 miles (4.8km) east of the mouth of Smith River and the Pacific Ocean, it is located 12 miles (19km) north of Crescent City. The "town" of Smith River has a population of 1,854, an elevation of 52' and bordered by the Smith River National Recreation Area. It is the center of vast acres of dairy-lily-cattle farms, and a large export facility that ships prized lilies all over the world.

The Post Office opened in 1863, located on the main street of Fred Haight Dr. The zip code is 95567, area code 707. Del Norte County is the seat of government. Smith River is the headquarters of the Tolawa Dee-ni' Nation, a federally recognized tribe of the Tolowa people. Their 4 star Howonquet Lodge, Lucky 7 Casino, restaurant/sports bar, plus gas station are three miles north. Temperatures remain comfortably moderate throughout the year. The winter high is 55 degrees and the low is in the 40s. 

This Northern California destination, a recreational paradise with its abundant natural resources and Redwood forests is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts, photographers, and RV camping. The pristine, undammed Smith River flows from the Klamath Mountains to the Pacific Ocean, meanders through some of the most spectacular views in the state. As California's leading steelhead fishery the river is noted for steelhead and salmon fishing, annual fishing derbies, and canoe and kayaking adventures. The river boasts clear waters, sandy beaches with plenty of opportunities for sun bathers and boating for all skill levels.

Maybe best of all is the pure, clean air captured between the redwoods and the ocean.

Local Happenings

Los Angeles-based developers have announced their intention to build a new 5-start resort with an 18-hole PGA golf course near Crescent City. This resort will be the nucleus of a luxury retirement community called Pelican Heights Resort. This new project and other development will continue to bring new investment and vitality to the North Coast.
Contour Airlines is expanding their service from Crescent City to several West Coast airports, providing easy travel to and from Smith River and surrounding communities.
